If ever you have kids in town and you can't figure out how to entertain them, stick them outside with lizards! Not only o they chase them around and end up tired, but it makes them nice (the 8 year old asked me "did you have a good sleep?" huh??). I don't know why I'm surprised because I know my brother and I chased lizards at home and salamanders when we vacationed in NC. My yard is trashed though....
So my girlfriend arrived at OIA near 3. By 5 or 6, we were painting my bathroom. What the hell? I'm grateful as hell, but she wanted to paint. I tried to convince her to relax and enjoy herself because I can do the painting this weekend on my own, but she was like "no let's start painting." Whatever.... who am I to refuse painting assistance?
I think we're going to go to the beach on Saturday. I hope it's nice and not too damn hot out! I passed a bank and it said it was 97... holy god!
Did I mention I'm not working today?
I'm so tired so I'm basically rambling right now. No sleep stinks. Maybe I'll have something more worthwhile to say later...... is this what happens to me when I spend time with children? The 8 year old (who is, ahem, actually 9.... oops!) did bust me "Are you smoking????"
So, I'm trying what to figure out what to make for food for next weeks quasi-party. I need something that will feed 8 people, not be too time consuming to make (or costly). Rather than doing something super easy like pasta, I'm thinking lots of hors d'ouevres (plus I'd rather make sure there's something everyone likes and I think that could safely do it). Thing is, I'm vegetarian and no one else is. I don't mind cooking meat for other people (although I can't guarantee it will be good) but I don't know what to make. So far I've thought Asian lettuce wraps, taboule (and maybe falafel, even though that's more a meal), bruschetta... things like that I seem to be favoring ethic today).... any ideas anyone?
