You Don't Need God.
Everything is muffled, its hard to see, hard to hear, hard to make sense of the world..especially from this point of view, everything is so blurry, there's no direction, no voice, no calling. Only one thought constantly remains, even when all others fade..."I cant breath..I cant breath..I cant breath"
That's when an unexpected hand pulls you from that puddle you've been lost in, as if pulling your own head out of your ass, you realize..you were drowning...but it was not God.
At first you see an Angel...he stands you up right...but as you gain your barrings you realize, he too was drowning.
All around you..you see others...your kindred, your brothers, your sisters..all floating about ..some in lakes of water...others in lakes of fire, but they are all drowning. You get angry, and curse...."Where is God?" "Why isnt he helping us??!"
The angel grabs you and points your eyes to where you could not see before....and there you see....God
In his thrown...all mighty..all powerful...yet his eyes tell a different story...a story of agony, of pain...of conflict.
"I cant" he says..." I cant deny them what it is they want the most" "I cant take away their most precious gift..no matter how much they abuse it"
"I cant take away their will, their freedom"
"Dont you see?" says the brother standing aside you..."We dont need God....God needs us..He needs us!"
You begin to realize that God is the parent watching over his children and as much as he wants to intrude, he cant step in between his children, he cant choose. You realize that you have siblings, brothers, sisters, all drowning right next to you, they need you, and you needed them, but its hard to see when you dont have air, when you cant breath.
That's what brothers and sisters are supposed to do, their supposed to look out for each other...not stand idly by and cry for mommy or daddy as their siblings drown right beside them.
You realize now, God has been watching, has been honoring your choice, your right to independence, your right to live your own life, and that you didn't need him, as much as he needed you. Because no parent....no true parent...can just love one child.
*****All too often I see people acting like parents, acting like they have the right to punish..to discipline, to guide and judge. That's not what an older brother or sister is supposed to do, and If you do believe in God, then that's what we all are, brothers and sisters, and if you don't, well then you don't and you're all alone in this world. Everyone is drowning, and no one seems to know how to swim, so maybe..just maybe. God needs us to help each other, and not sink like a bunch of helpless spoiled children who are too timid to stand up and realize that they're drowning in the shallow end as others struggle in the deeper regions of life.
