Hello, my darlings
I want to share with you one more book. It's probably my favorite book. I read it three times. Or four... Hmmm....
*drumroll*
Hah
It's Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
God, I can talk about this book for hours...
The protagonist of the book is Oscar Schell, a nine-year-old boy. His father (Thomas Schell) died as a result of the terrorist attacks in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Oscar fights insomnia, panic attacks and depression. He often describes the sense of depression as dressed in heavy boots, and does this by giving himself bruises. Once Oscar finds the key in a small envelope inside the vase. He finds the name of Black on the envelope in which the key was lying. Curious, Oscar continues the mission to contact every person in New York with the name Black, hoping to find a castle that belongs to the key left by the father.
The novel has a parallel narrative that eventually converges with the main story.
This beautiful story touches me to the depths of my soul. Oscar's emotions, his thoughts, feelings. It is impossible not to empathize with him.
If you like these books, then you have to read it. Well, and if you have already read, then write what you think about it <3
