A Place To Call Home seeks drummer (SF BAY AREA)
Title is self-explanatory. Our current drummer is leaving for L.A. at the end of this month, so we are currently on the search for another. We are hoping to get into the studio to record a 3 song demo before he leaves so that we have a decent recording of what we are going for rather than a low quality garage recording. The lineup after the drummer leaves will be: vox/guitar, lead guitar/lead rhythm, bass.
What we are looking for in YOU:
-First and most important - MUST BE SERIOUS
-Willing to put forth time, effort, and some money into becoming a succesful band. We all have the same goal, and that is to become succesful musicians, so we must all help eachother by participating in the group. Success does not come overnight.
-Should be finacially stable. Again this not only helps the group, but also helps you as well.
-Willing to be open to new ideas and put forth new ideas as well. One of the things that makes a band unique is it's ability to take each individual person's idea and put them altogether in one song. If an idea doesn't work, don't get mad. Keep that idea and try it in a different song or part.
-Has at least a few years of experience with his/her intrument, in this case being the drums.
-Is able to take time to tour and play shows. We will be planning to tour the coastline, and possibly further in the near future. Until then we will be playing in the Bay Area.
-Has some form of transportation to/from practice and is able to get to practice ON TIME. Musicians tend to be late to everything for some odd reason, but if you enjoy showing up 3 hours late or just not showing up to practice at all without calling anyone, then you must find another band to play with.
-NO DRUGS AND/OR HEAVY ALCOHOL ABUSE WILL BE TOLERATED
-Has an open avalibilty. Our current job situations allow us to practice weekdays, but not all weekdays. We do have a set practice on weekends for at least 5 hours.
Overall we are looking for a very serious and well rounded indivual who is willing to have some fun and make a few new friends as well. If you feel you qualify then by all means contact us. We have a small practice space and drums, though not the best, they are getting the job done. It would be a plus if you had your own kit, though it is not a requirement at the moment since we have our own. Again if you think you have what it takes, then contact us so that we may set up an interview and an audition:

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

*EDIT* We are recording on August 19th at the Sonic Room in Oakland! This so AWESOME!
