I promised some people a repost of my potato soup recipe:
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Potato Soup
ingredients:
7-10 peeled potatoes cut in pieces of variable size, largest being maybe 3/4" cubes
1 whole leek, cut up in small pieces. discard leafy part
a few stalks of celery
1 package cream cheese, cubed
1 1/2 cup milk
1 can mushroom soup
salt
pepper
garlic powder
one small mild onion (optional)
chives (also optional)
1 lb bacon
cooking it:
Bake bacon on parchment paper in high-sided baking pan at 400 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes, or however long it takes your oven. Do not cook at higher temp, as it will spatter and make an awful mess of your oven. Set the bacon aside. Cut it up into pieces in a bowl now or later.
Put potatoes, leek bits, celery, and onions in pan and cover with water and throw in some salt.
Boil until potatoes are soft.
Quickly drain into sink and put back into pot. DO NOT RINSE!
Stir in already cubed cream cheese.
Stir in mushroom soup.
Stir in milk.
Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder till it tastes good, which it probably already will.
Top with bits of bacon and chives.
Eat it.
I put some garlic powder in the water while it was cooking this time, but don't know if this has any effect or not.
(It's a really good idea, I came to find.)
Sorry that took so long, I've been lazy up 'til today.
ill have to try it out the next time i have some free time.
