It's 11/13/2016
Today there was finally a large peaceful protest I was able to be apart of (since the last one got very violent) Being a Mexican/ LGBT+ and a women it felt amazing to been in a large group of people and feel safe. I heard so many good speeches today and I learned so much. I am the daughter of illegal immigrants. Today is something I won't forget. Seeing everyone come together against hate, bigotry and violence using words full of love, education and acceptance of one another for who they are is beautiful.
In this time we need to teach, inform people so that this nation can bounce back and survive. This is our time for our voices to be heard, we are angry and we are upset. I was able to meet a woman who ran for city council. Hear the voices of not only public speakers but random people who felt the need to address issues. We aren't protesting because 'our team" lost but we are protesting against what Trump represents.
I am glad Suicide Girls is a community that believes in fighting back and voicing against ignorance, misogyny and racism.
We been to keep voicing and fighting as a community
Till next time,
Selin
