Well, the weekend is over. time to catch up on things here.
First off, time for seldon's weekly movie roundup.
I went to see the Punisher on Friday.
It is quite possibly the worst edited movie I have seen in a long time. the acting is decent, the script palatable, but the story is mangled beyond comprehension by the pacing, too much emphasis is put on the villian, and it feels like they literally cut it blindfolded.
ugh. at least I didnt pay for my ticket.
Saturday it was the long-anticipated Kill Bill volume two.
I am so in love with this movie. alot of people in love with the first one were probably disappointed, but I think it is the perfect compliment to both the story and the actors. Uma is brilliant, Carradine is amazing and the whole movie kept me enthralled from open to close. It resonated in me how bad the editing and directing on the Punisher was by how blatently you could see Tarantino's touch on every prop, movement and sound in the movie. They were all working in perfect harmony to propel the story.
General weekend stuff.
Friday I went to aforementioned pos with Fitch, he took me to see that and then out to eat for my b-day. then the girl showed up in the pm after I grabbed a little nap and we ate some pizza and watched the first half of KB. She got me some sweet presents, a new pair of vans, tan with orange v's and sports night on DVD, also the strong bad CD. I love her so much. She also baked me a cake (yum) which was excellent. Saturday I had to work in the am, so she went shopping downtown. I got off at 2:30, so we grabbed some food and a quick "nap" and then ran down to pittsburgh to see KB2. We ate dinner at my friend Adam's house, he made kabobs on the grill (yum again) and then we had VIP seats at the Lowes at the waterfront. Nothing like a leather couch for watching a movie in comfort. We grabbed desert afterwords and it was a general good time. He mentioned something about getting fitted for a tux soon. I had almost forgotten about being in his wedding. Sunday has been quiet, we played miniature golf, as it was so beautiful out, and then went out to see my 'rents for a bit. they were mellow as always. Then over to Adam's for hanging out and Sopranos. Shawna actually stayed for dinner with my friends, it seems like she is getting more comfortable with them.
Well, thats all I can type for tonight, I will see you all this week.
