You know it's funny how some people don't give a shit how much effort you put into a relationship. They think that all your effort and understanding, all your kindness and goodwill don't add up to jack because you don't just fawn over them and act like everything is just perfect when it isn't. And when you do bring it up to them, you're the jerk. In the end it's my own fault though. I keep thinking people actually like me, when in reality what they like is how I make them feel.

And no, I'm not necessarily talking about you, dear reader.
