I am now in South Africa on a research trip focusing on African Birds. Mostly spending time on a little island, but yesterday I was back in Capetown for some R&R.
Robben Island is the island (I am doing research on) that used to be a political prisoner jail for folks like Nelson Mandela. The nature and the history of the place is astounding!!!!!
MAking many wonderful contacts with South African musicians and scientists.
This country is so beautful!!!!
I wish everyone back in the US had a chance to see this place. Hoping to go on a traditional Safari ina week or two.
I will be coming back through NYC for a few days on the trip back to the states somewhere in the second or third week in June. Hope to say hello to some NYC/ NJ SGers. I will probably be staying in Manhattan or Jersey City.
