Yes, but once a pattern is established, shouldn't the player be denied further chances? For example if a friend continuously stands you up, would you stop asking them to go out? At what point do you accept that you are not a priority with this person, and move on? When do you stop accepting the excuses, stop giving second chances??? I think to offer too many second chances is to cheapen one's own worth. You can forgive the person for forgetting or blowing you off, but no longer include them in your plans. The player needs to learn that there are consequences to one's actions and forgiveness is not the same as second chances.
