update: looking for a new job (in earnest), thought sometimes i wish i was younger and didn't have as many committments so i could just up an say "fuck this!" and walk out and take any job (or residency or adjunct faculty position or part time teaching job or anything that didn't require insurance and enought money to cover a mortgage)...got a show in the west loop in January, so that's the good news...i just have to somehow make it until then without a catastophic explosion of temper and frustration.
