i seriously miss kb. i loved working there, because all i did was open boxes of new toys, buy the ones i wanted, and talk about geeky stuff with matt. it ruled.
night-stock at tru, on the other hand, sucked ass. toys r us has gone steadily downhill since walmart's toy department stole their business model and started kicking their ASS.
now kb has closed all but one of it's portland stores, and it looks like tru is about to follow suit, unless they have a badass christmas.
on the one hand, i'm scared, because if they close stores here, they'll probably close the lloyd center store, which is the only one i can get to.
on the other hand, i barely bought anything at tru even when i worked there, because they NEVER get anything new anymore. it's a goddamn ghost town in their aisles.
well, not quite; it's just old crap. walmart is a ghost town, with mostly empty pegs, most of the time. one wonders how they kick so much ass in toy sales when they don't usually have any toys to sell.
but while i want tru to suffer for their shitty business practices, i don't want to see the place go under and die. i want to see it get better! i want tru to kick walmart's ass and become the toy retail king again, i want them to reboot back to the aisles and carry absolutely everything like they did a mere five years ago. i want tru to get stuff first, charge less, and put shit on clearance when it doesn't sell quickly enough, to make room for newer stuff. like what target and walmart are doing now.
target's toy section is better than toysrus anymore. they restock more often, carry more new stuff, and clearance out any dead weight. i'd love to have a target at lloyd center.
i could get by without tru, since i can shop online. but i don't want to see all mothers everywhere forced to shop at walmart for their kids. walmart is evil.
