happy birthday to me!
okay, so it's a little premature, i won't be 23 until may 2nd. still. this gives people plenty of time to go shopping. although i don't expect anything from anyone(since most of the people i know are as broke as i am) and really, my brother's gift is kicking the ass of all other gifts i might theoretically recieve.
he's buying himself a brand new x-box, in a limited edition clear green color, and giving me his old one. it's a little funky and occasionally overheats, and needs to be well ventilated, but it still works, and he bought it when the x-box premiered, so it's at least two years old. the x-box is a powerful and good system. and i'm getting one free. with halo. and the new small controller. sweet.
which of course means i now have a list of x-box gear i need to find and buy...
25? -- r/f adapter for the old tv in the basement
20 -- doa 3, jsrf, and a couple other older games
30-50 -- worms3d, halo 2 in the fall, and half a dozen newer games
30 -- dvd playback kit
?? -- all the dvds in the world
30? -- a good travel case for the system
30 -- a second s-controller, maybe 3 more for 4-player action(although the likelihood of my having three friends over for halo is absolute zero right now, since all my friends would just be at scotts anyways...)
naturally, since i'm a gigantic fucking nerd, what i really want over x-box swag for my new x-box, even more than the r/f adapter that will let me use it, is toys. japanese toys on hlj. that i can't afford.
note to self -- get a goddamn job you slacker! go to the temp agency and get a temp office job and don't hate it! sell out for shiny plastic japanese things! (i suppose temp work isn't really selling out, but obviously i want to make a living at drawing shit all day...)
hrrm, and go over to pcc and take that placement test, update my tax info on the fafsa website, and go through the catalog and figure out what classes i want to take in june.
at least i'm not being totally inactive. today we built the superstructure of leilani's swingset. she(and her folks) fly in tomorrow, and we'll finish off the play structure over the next couple days. hopefully i'll be able to post pictures soon.
