For the past year I have fully been exploring a way of life that a part of me has been curious about since 1988. This life style is called BDSM Dom/Sub or D/S or D/D.
I have fully accepted the fact that I am a DOM. Some may ask why is that such a big deal. The answer is simple enough For 13 years I beat by a witless man, and all my life I have feared becoming that person. Ya know you read or hear how people that were beat become beaters themselves, and I told myself I was never ever going to become him.
So imagine my hesitation when I started to explore this world of dominance and submissiveness. I felt sick, fearful and that my already fragile confidence or self was done for. My first thought was that I was indeed becoming my stepfather and that I was doomed.
After nearly a full year of exploring this way of living and myself; I can tell you with confidence that it is so different from what my stepfather did.
It is amazing when you fully accept all parts of you as a whole and understand that it is ok to be who you are and there is nothing wrong with you because of it; it has such a freeing effect on you that the world will seem new and bright.
Something that is hard for people to understand is that in a D/S relationship it is actually the Submissives that have the true power, because they grant the Dom the privilege of dominating them. They must respect the Dom, and have faith in them and their ability to be able to lead them. If that is not there; then there truly is no D/S relationship.
Many people think that D/S is a fantasy world where the Dom gets to do with the Sub whatever he/she wishes they could be no more wrong if they tried.
Doms must respect and fulfill the needs of the Sub or less nothing works. This does not mean the Dom lets the Sub get away with everything or else there is no true D/S relationship. It is a intricate and very complex. There must be a balance.
If you meet a Dom who says he makes the Sub do whatever he/she wishes all the time. He/She is a whatabe and is smoking and not sharing with the rest of the world.
Being a Dom is one the most difficult and demanding things I have done in my life, and I truly can say I would not go back to a quote vanilla life style ever. The connection and experiences truly have changed my life for the better.
Because it is a life style it is not just a bedroom game it is something that grabs a hold of you and propels you through life. It changes how you interact with the world and everything around you.
Do not let me fool you though as I said this is one of the most challenging things I have done. It is harder then anyone can truly grasp. And yet it is the easiest thing in the world, because it is right for me. It is not right for everyone hence the reason it works so well is because it is not for everyone. I personally cannot imagine a world full of the same type of people. That thought alone frightens me. So I am part of a small group of people around world. I like it that way.
Live life your way, but live it with respect for all those around you; and you will find that life opens up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
