So I do still only update very sporadically. I shall burn in hell for that, yes.
So to blanket respond to queries: shame on the ones of you who don't know what linux is. Bah! To those in the know, I'm hitting up Red Hat and probably a dual boot... depends on what my friend can pull off. *finishes backing up files, shakes butt*
What's happened lately, since my last uneventful entry? Errr. I saw Neal Stephenson give a reading, and went along with Flux, Stormy, and mobprod, later running into Cubistic and Mei. Good times! Hopefully you all have similarly awesome taste.
Friday was fun. My friend Mike and I had an adventure, and by that I mean we were the voyeurs of peoples' lives, and by that I mean we wandered around and looked in peoples' windows whilst loudly commenting on their lifestyles/OSs. My friend Sahar's dad took us out for thai food. He's RAD. He once asked Salman Rushdie if being chased 'felt erotic', and he had a journal in which we wrote things about how neat he was. Yay, people who aren't afraid of being cool. Last night was the Portland Juggling Festival, and there I got to see many people do hilarious things, and I really really want a contact juggling ball now. Soooo badly! Sigh. I also got to meet desidia, who was really just a barrel of laughs and hilarity. We had some pretty good adventures.
Today... saw Mogwai, along with the Swords Project, a local PDX band, and quite excellent. I was quite blown away, although I am currently listening to them on album and i don't think that they are as good recorded... they definitely lose a significant shoegazer-ish element in this. Came back... got insanely drunk (GOLDSCHLAGER!!! This is an alcoholic beverage with GOLD in it. The gold slices up your throat and aids in intoxication. Marvellous stuff, in that hedonistic, Scylla le flameur (la flameuse?) kinda way). Helped a friend of mine who was extraORDINARILY drunk... went and hung out on a balcony with too much lighter fluid & easily amused friends for a while.
Fuck! I need to go to Safeway. My tummy is all a-stray!
I have lost my ability to be tactful. I can never shut up, and even when I say the most offensive things I can be compensating for something quite effusive, emotionally. I never learned to be coy or to have any grace in what I say... and I suppose that I lose people for it, but really, if I were five years old I would be chasing after them with mud pies, trying to get kissed.
I know that my journal has kind of degenerated from the awesomeness saturation levels that is used to possess. However, I must say that I feel that on some level, I am compensating for the isolation of this summer. Everthing is now empirical, instead of lost in critical theory. (FUCK critical theory up the ass, by the way . If I hear one more person say 'the sign' in an abstract sense, I will kick them SQUA in the nuts.)

Yea J-Pilot and K-Pilot came with my distro. Both work OK. K-Pilot is still an alpha and is very "basic". J-Pilot is very similar to Palm Desktop. Thats the one I use. Only thing I noticed that was slightly annoying was the fact that if you use USB for your cradle, that you have to press the sync button and then tell the proggie that you want it to sync now, it just doesn't automatically do it like it used to in windows. Something I can get used to for the righteousness of Linux .

you rock out with your fly baby linux self. that kicks ass. i'd be half tempted to run it as well, but on a mac... seems kinda silly... and it would involve learning stuff, which right now i'm not badass enough to do. fuck, right now i'm hardly badass enough to do anything. i wish i could crawl back into bed.
