i've got way too much shit. and there's just so much of it that i don't really want to get rid of, but i know i can't take it, and i'm not really sure if it's worth putting in storage to come back for. going through it all is kinda depressing because of it. i mean, i got a really nice joystick for my computer just before i moved up here. and i still have it. or the broken and never really fixed model of the movie Enterprise-A. it's one of the big ERTL ones, which they don't make anymore. it fell off its shelf and came apart at a couple of seems, and one would think that it would have been easy to fix, but that fucker's not been together for probably pushing 12-15 years.
science, has it really been that long? damn...
my dad tried to fix it. took it to Chicago with him. never managed to get it done. not for lack of trying, though. had a jig and a cradle and epoxy and everything there in the attempt. sent it to me one year as part of an x-mas package.
but i have tons of shit like that, from my old college books (history and anthropology books are definite keepers) to a box full of Gundam Wing action figures (which i actually gave to my friend Dave, even though i kinda regret it for the same reasons i'm having trouble getting rid of most of the stuff i have, which is for no real reason other than "you can't get those anymore") to an assload of the PIRATES! constructable ship strategy game cards to a bunch of swords and a small polearm/sword hybrid (it's called a pudao, and it's awesome, and it's going into storage). i don't know what i'm going to do with it all. in the end, i think a lot of it will be gotten rid of just to make a change in my life.
i need to look up and see just how crammed full of shit the shippers will let me make my car. i am loath to let go of my mini fridge, because it will get used at the new place, having a roommate once more, but i don't know if i can fit it. and my tower computer. and all my clothes. and a nice desk that comes apart into surprisingly small pieces. and my swords. and stem's computer tower. and other assorted shit.
*sigh*
