So I am among living again! Actually, I have been for a couple of weeks, but things have been so crazy that I haven't had time to mess with my journal.
Right now I have two big projects in the works, both related to the broadcast. The first is that I am putting together a promo CD to promote the station. I also really want to use it to promote independent punk and psychobilly bands as well. It is going to be a give away item, so no one will be making any cash from sales, but it is a way to get your name out to some listeners. As such, if you know any bands that are interested, send 'em my way.
The second thing is a new website that I will hopefully launch in the next few weeks, which is located at www.ballandchainmusic.com. Don't bother looking at the moment, nothing is up. The plan is to post pics of shows, to profile bands, to promote the broadcast and to sell Ball and Chain swag. I am working on a t-shirt design and some other stuff. Suggestions are always welcome.
A couple of cool Atlanta related items...The Koffin Kats are playing Mulligan's in Decatur on March 15th, and The Rounders are opening for Dale Watson in April. Good music is getting harder to find here with the proliferation of emo, college rock, hip-hop, and all the other nonsense floating around out there. If I see one more trucker hat, I am gonna start cracking skulls! If any of you Atlanta folks hear of good punk, psychobilly or rockabilly, help a cowboy out, will ya!
