Ok so, now I've spent two long weekends in the joyous company of Amy (Sapphyre), and I've got to say that although obstacles lie ahead, and as of yet I've got no idea how to tackle them, I do strongly feel that no matter how difficult these are to overcome, she's worth it. Anyway, we love each other, and Amy's family seem to genuinely like me, and my family like her (or at least how she makes me feel, having not met her yet).
Since I've been away from Coulsdon lots of things changed my mate Jess's found herself a bloke. Paul's going through some stuff at the moment, but I have faith in Him and Jemima. Kevin and Maxine got Married (I think, I wasn't invited),
The Skatepark project's kind of dissolved mostly because you should never leave 3 14 year old pot heads in charge of anything let alone anything as important as planning a fundraiser for a Skatepark. But I'm going to call them at 5pm. To try and sort out what they've done and what should happen next.
I can say that having my own place is a wonderful thing, there are still things I'd like to bring up from home but it already really feels like my own place, and it's great to not have to worry about bed times or necessarily waking up early (but my alarm clock's on the Fritz, so will need to fix that or buy a new one before term begins otherwise I foresee disastrous consequences).
Lots of my mates at the time seem to have left SG, but for those of you that won't be bored by the repetition, or didn't know:
In the Christmas Term of my second year (2004-2005) I formally complained about a teachers conduct and presented evidence gathered over a period of 2 weeks to the 'bigwigs' at Dewsbury college about Georgia, my head of year, nothing happened.
Last year (2005-2006) I was on my year in Industry, trying to frantically search out a better or more relevant experience than the one I'd found on my own because all of the contact details I'd got from the university and indirectly through Georgia were for companies I couldn't ethically work for or with wrong contact details. And certain SG friends helped a bundle when it looked like I was going to be spending some time in California and the Uni couldn't help arrange that one. So anyway I avoided contact with her as much as possible and always talked to the design dept's main placement supervisor.
Then I get a phone call asking if she can visit me, she offers a variety of dates and mostly I'm unavailable but I arrange my schedule for a mutually acceptable meeting time, so do both of my bosses. And we sat around for hours trying to figure out what was going on, then I called her on a number I still had from when we went to Vienna. Long story short, she couldn't make it and offered no apology or viable reason.
I got PISSED OFF, complained again, and asked what was going on to the complaints officer in my Dept (at the Uni of Huddersfield). This complaint was made in confidence, next thing I knew almost a month later, the head of Department and Heads of Year want to have a meeting with me. And there's my complaint, my name, and everything right below their communications . . . whatever happened to anonymity?
The drawing project's not going great because I need to know what will work, not look good, and the armour consultant guy's not replied to my e-mails. Research is going well and when I can sort out an anthropometric and biometric testing facilities my project is going to kick ass, and I can spend all day watching people fall down (hopefully in the STI in California), one on my most favourite thing.
