Once again Ive not done a post in my journal for long enough to grow a beard, but I already had one, so its just got quite long.
So Ive been working on the Vision heritage project a while now and for all intents and purposes Its going quite well, we about as on target as you could expect for a 15 part multifaceted project, which will end in a 2,192 square foot mural, book, CD and cookbook. My bosses are off to Arhnem in Holland this weekend to cement our relationship with our twin town, and play a game of Korfball against them.
I was expecting the 11 I had left in my account to last me about the rest of the month, god only knows how. I had a meeting with Jeanne Marie and Susan after Mondays mosaic workshop and Susan empathised, had the check book on her, so gave me 100 of my total pay, which is really nice, so paid that into the bank two days ago, and when got home I found that in the post Id won 50 on the premium bonds (Google it if you dont know what they are), so I went from having 11 to 161 in less than 48 hours, pretty rocking.
Went on a bit of a spending spree yesterday when I was part-time job hunting, bought a surfeit of CD-Rs and some speaker cable, plus paid back Susan for the Duty free cigarettes, paid off my MasterCard, and when the checks clear I can afford to pay off the remainder on the flights to go to my cousins wedding.
Hasnt really changed anything though, all it means is that I pay off debts/outgoing costs now rather than in a couple of months time, I can afford weed again, but that doesnt really change anything either cos I hadnt run out, and didnt aim to before next month anyway.
My Mums gone off to Sri-Lanka for a fortnight for a friends-relatives arranged marriage, and to go to the place where our church is sending Tsunami relief money to, shes been sending daily texts, but its kind of sweet how distracted and distraught my Dad is without her
Anyway, Im now technically doing my final year work, which is quite a lot like perv-ing over women with not a lot on; I love lingerie and Bikini design sections.
Working on getting a load of photography to back that up (as primary research), also still trying to find a textiles manufacturer to source: raw hemp, hemp/cotton blend and talk to them about making me a swatch/couple of metres of something special.
