So, here's a little update.
Not a whole lot going on, but i'm waiting for the roomie to get home so we can get some food.
Last week we got some snow. Usually here in the south we don't get much, but last friday we got about 16 inches in 1 day. For us, thats a shit ton. The roomie and i decided to walk out and get some food before it got too bad outside so we start walking. There's about 3 in. on the ground when we start.
After about 4 miles we get to the grocery store. The power is out at the store, so we wait around for about 1/2 hour. Finally the power comes back on, we go inside, get our food and are checking out when the fucking power goes out again. So we wait at the store while the power teases us by flickering on and off. We wait, and we watch the snow fall.
If we had cash or check on us, we could have just paid and left, but being young adults we only have our debt cards, so finally i get the brilliant idea to walk to were there is power and get some cash. So i leave.
I walk about half a mile to where the power is still on, and i use the ATM machine. I walk back the half mile get to the store. The power is still off there, so we pay and start heading back home.
We get home, hang clothes up to dry, sit by the heater and enjoy our munchies, and try to play some video games, even though the power, once again, is teasing us.
The next night, we're still snowed in. Our road is completely iced up, and neither of us have 4WD. Even if we did, i doubt we could have made it out. So the roomie decides it will be fun to bury me in the snow.
I admit, it was kinda fun, but a little scary when i could barley get out.
So thats whats new. I had the past week off from work, and i'll pretty much have all of next week off too. Been playing a lot of video games, and a lot of music. Going back to work is going to be a bitch.
Didn't do much for christmas. My friend owns a coffee shop in Sylva, NC. He was actually open for business on Christmas till noon. Then he shut down and opened it up for people like me who don't really have a place to go for the holidays. So a group of around 15 people showed up. We all brought a dish, one guy brought some home made raspberry moonshine (sooooo good) and we had ourselves a little potluck dinner. After eating we hung out, played cards and yahtzee, and drank. The food was great, the company was great, so for someone who doesn't even really celebrate holidays, i had a really good christmas.
