Well, Friday night was a pretty special night for me. For a few reasons.
1) It was my first evening out without hubby and baby, since bub was born (a year ago). I took the evening off, did my hair and makeup, put a nice dress on, and ventured into the city.
2) I attended the Blackheart Burlesque Brisbane show, which was really great. I'm so glad I made the effort to go (despite having had surgery last week, which had made me very stiff and sore!) The dancers were fantastic, what a treat. Such attitude, sassiness, and talent. @vorpal was the host, and she had such great stage presence. She was great to watch as well. Infact, I really looked forward to her hosting on stage inbetween the dance numbers. The venue was also fantastic. I'd never been there before and was quite impressed!
3) What was even more exciting for me though, was meeting some more SG's. You see, here in Aus... we don't get a lot of SG action. Visits from overseas girls are somewhat rare. We're in our own little SG world over here. Our own little SG island - literally! So when something happens, when someone visits, it's absolutely fantastic! Not only did I get to finally meet some fellow SG's who I've been talking to and following for years on the site, I also met @missy. Not being much of a traveler myself, that is something I thought would NEVER happen. I met MISSY! That's something I still can't quite get my head around. I've been an SG for almost 7 years now, and I've now met Missy. What an absolute treat. Friendly, smart, professional, polite. One of my huge SG goals has now been met. I've met Missy.
Now, the excitement doesn't stop there. I also met @sunshine, who has been a constant presence on the site since I joined. She has always been a familiar face, and she's one of the girls that has always been so well loved and so popular since I've been here. And she's also one of the girls who has always, without a doubt, come across as so friendly and happy. And I'm glad to report, she's exactly the same in person! Gosh, what an amazing woman. She's so warm and friendly and is all smiles. She's one of a kind, that's for sure.
@lolana is someone I recognized instantly when I started researching who was attending the tour is Aus. A few of the girls on the tour (most of the dancers I believe) are quite new, and to be honest, I didn't recognize their names straight away (I blame that on myself not being very active lately). But Lolana - bam! Straight away. I've been gazing at her lovely self online for a number of years now, and as soon as I saw her - I just KNEW it was her. You see, myself and a couple of friends (@zombielex and her man) got let into the venue before the main crowd (because of my surgery), and as soon as I walked into the front door of the venue, I spotted the merch stand, and saw the beautiful Lolana sitting there. What a beauty. We were rushed to our seats, so I didn't get to say hi to her before the show, but I did after. And I must say, she's so welcoming, friendly, and inviting.
@diessel is another lovely lady I met for the first time that night. What a spunk! Oh my. Wow, just wow. I'm sad I didn't get to spend more time with her. She is so sweet, so cute, so lovely, and like a said... such a spunk! I could stare at her all day. I can't believe I was looking at (in person) one of those absolutely mesmerizing ladies in @anemona's photos on the site. All of the girls in Anemona's photos seems like mermaids to me - they're all beautiful, colourful, mesmerizing, and magical! AND, I do believe Diessel is living here for a while? So I may have to hit her up and spend some more time with her while she's here!
And @vorpal. Miss Vorpal, what can I say, haha. Such a little ball of energy and sass, haha! I've been speaking to Vorpal online for... gosh I don't even know... how long now. Long before she even became an SG. Granted, she's an Aus lady too, but not from near where I live, so we still hadn't met until Friday night. It was so good to finally meet her. I've watched her grow from a Hopeful, to one of the most important, active, and popular SG's on the site, who is now hosing and traveling the country (and overseas) with the burlesque show, and is the model co now as well (?). Wow, what a rise! Despite her popularity now, when I first saw her on Friday night, I saw that gorgeous, little, sweet pocket rocket of a lady that I had become Instagram friends with a long time ago! What a sweetheart <3
And on top of all that, I got to see @tez and @allura and @_ghost again as well! I also met some awesome SG members as well, but I don't know their user names to tag them :(
All in all, it was a great night!
