I'm flying to Sydney tomorrow with Kasskore for the SGAU Ball! I get to see my lovelies again - MadDame, PeggySue and Tez. And I also get to finally meet Countessa, Sin, Allura, Chilli and Christina! So I'll do a quick blog today, but I'm sure I'll have loads of pics to upload after the weekend from the ball!
But first.....
Late last year, I was approached by a photographer to shoot for a popular men's magazine over here in Aus. At first I was very hesitant, because not really being very familiar with men's magazines and their content, I was under the impression that the women in them were mostly made up of blonde, slim, tall, fake boobed, shaved, super tanned ladies with no (or very few) tattooes and piercings. And that's clearly not me.
Tony from Automodelz, the photographer, assured me that this was not the case. And after actually going out and getting some of these magazines, and doing a bit of research (and fun research at that

So, we booked in, and shot the sets about 6 months ago. The actual shoot was super, super fun. We shot 2 sets, to submit for different magazines, and Chayce came along as well, to shoot her own sets (she's since been published twice I think, so go congratulate her!). We shot in a beautiful mansion over looking the Gold Coast canals. It was a loooooong day, and hard work, but fun all the same. I felt like a bit of a 'real' model that day. Shooting in a mansion, having a makeup artist standing there beside me all day, ready to fix any smudges, hair, lip gloss ect. Was a very cool experience...
Anyway, 2 weeks ago, 6 months after we shot, I got a call from one of the magazines we submitted to. My set had been purchased and was getting published. I had my phone interview, my cheque was sent, and 2 days ago, my magazine was published. I have 3 full pages in the mag!
I'm super proud. My size 12, short, stumpy, natural boobed, tattooed, pierced self is representing in one of the most popular men's magazines in Aus!
Now, I know, men's magazones just aren't for some people. And I admit myself, before I did my 'research', I too was under the impression that these women in men's mags were all 'fake' and 'typical'. And that might be the case with some ladies. But I assure you, I am not. I did not change myself at all for those shoots. I wore my own clothes, the MUA tried to keep the hair and makeup with my usual pinup style, I kept my pubes, I kept all of my piercings in, the photographer didn't try to hide my tattooes, I didn't lose a significant amount of weight for the shoots. And I'm damn proud of that.
Anyway, to the pics!
You can find more of the pics from those shoots (that weren't used for publication) here.
And speaking of pics, I have alot of pics from alot of recent shoots for you.
My 8th Zivity set was published this morning, and you can find the whole uncensored set here on Zivity, or you can find the previews here. And as always, if I haven't before, I can give you a free 30 day trial for Zivity, which gives you access to all the photosets. Just PM me your email address and I'll send it off.
I've also been working alot with Nikki from Industrial Photographics. She's great. Such a great girl to work with. Super fun and super sweet. Here are a few samples from what we've been shooting lately. There are loads more to come though, so as soon as I have my hands on them, I'll post them!
I've also got a couple recent pics here from a few blogs ago, in case you missed them Whole set here
And a couple more here, full set here.
Enough pics! Next subject.... pagents! Yup, that's right, me who's petrified of runway work, is entering a pagent. Haha, who would have thought. A town quite close to me is having a Miss Pinup 2010 pagent, and I have decided to enter. It's nothing huge. It's just a smallish country town. With just two sections, pinup lingerie/swimwear and a general pinup wear section. I'm not even sure how many girls have entered. 20 maybe? The first heats are on the 21st October, and the finals are in November. Some wicked prizes are up for grabs for the 3 top girls. So, even though I'm sweating just thinking about it, I'm giving it a go. It'll be something I've never done before, and a good experience I reckon. So, here's hoping I don't fall on my arse on the runway or break my face
And finally, a few weeks ago, I shot a new SG set with the lovely AmyElizabeth. It's in the MR queue for the 22th September at the moment. I'd actually not planned on shooting another set for a very long time. I had no intentions of shooting anything anytime soon, due to alot of reasons, but one of the main ones being my inability to find a skilled photographer, who was actually not only capable of shooting front page quality, but also willing and ready to shoot for SG. But I'd stumbled on Amy's work, and was really, really impressed. And I knew for a fact she was interested in shooting SG work, so I contacted her, we discussed ideas/locations/style ect, and booked in to shoot. And now, it's waiting in the MR queue
And, that's it for today! I've got to go and finish making my costume for the SGAU Ball and pack all my stuff! My flight leaves at 8:30am tomorrow, which means I have to be up at around 5:50am. Argh.
Big new blog next week!
Not too bad you own self.
