So, started a new job last night. Well, lets call it a hobby. I mean, I get paid, but it's only once a week so far, and it ain't worth doing it for the money.

Here in Newcastle we have a theatre restaurant called the Kavon. I've been there a bunch of times to see their various shows and have dinner. It's always a fun and friendly atmosphere, and the wait staff double as the performers. They sing, dance, and make a lot of sly innuendo and generally play with the crowd. They wear skimpy outfits, and some of the guys strip down to a G-string to do so later in the performance. They serve dinner and drinks, and have photo's taken with the audience upon request.

Last night, I was one of those guys. I was recently retrenched - the company I was working for was looking to downsize due to a downturn in our industry. So I got a pay-out and was shown the door, albeit in a friendly manner. Coupled with my recent single dad status, this was a bit of a blow to the old self-confidence.

But having ladies specifically request photo's with you while you're topless or stripped down to a G-string does give you a fair bit of confidence boost.
