I dont know how, but I think im starting to qualify as an optimist, and frankly that idea sickens me. I dont let anything get me down but that is more due to apathy than thinking its gonna get better. While I do believe that mankind is headed toward one catastrophic end I dont think it will be in my life time because I realize most of the people in the world are as or more apathetic than myself which means basically the generation of tomorrow that would fight the war to end all wars does not give a fuck. On some levels this is a bad thing, even a horrible thing, but on other levels it means we may be coming closer to gender/racial equality as no one gives a fuck what you look like and treats everyone like dirt. The bad aspects of it are people like George Bush getting away with starting a war on strictly monatary grounds(oil) and no one in American really gives a shit. Thats why you have groups like The Epoxies(with NOFX) running around trying to get people to actually care again. Its a crazy and yet intensely sane situation and I marvel at the placid faces I see on peoples faces when they hear the words of the 9/11 report say "there was no credible link between al qaeda and Saddam Hussain" rather they would prefer to freak out over some petty matter as Theresa Heinz Kerry saying "shove it". I do not claim to be for a political party because I think the whole system is crooked as hell but I do know one thing, GW is the worst thing to happen to this country since Britain decided to take back its recognition of our independance in 1812. Yeah theres no real reason I go back this far other than its the first that came to mind. Its not even that GW is that much worse than everybody else, the difference is this, the congress is also controlled by the Republicans so they can actually get shit done because they all agree, it ruins the whole stalemate nature of our government when everyone agrees.
