A Pledge Pin???? On your Uniform?????
Well this was a pretty good weekend!
It all started Sunday afternoon,My 2 sons,Chris,Adrian & myself went to Daddys Junky Music in Warwick for a meet and greet with Twisted Sister who where in town doing a benefit to raise money for the victims of the Station nightclub fire.
When we got there the line was all the way around the back of the building outside, but we decided to stay and wait anyway. We were standing out in the cold for about half an hour, then they let us trickle in a few at a time.Once we got inside the line snaked up and down all the aisles through rows of amplifiers.
We could see the guys sitting at the table and just waited patiently in line.
Finally we got up to the table where they were, and I have to say they were an awesome bunch of guys. They were actually having fun talking with everyone and hanging out,no disappointments,no being "rushed through the line".They took their time to joke around and talk.
When we got up to Jay Jay French,He asked me if we were going to the show, and I had mentioned that my money was a little tight right now,he gave me 2 tickets!!
It was awesome!!!!
We got the last 2 tickets that they had,and Chris had to be back in Boston for school,so it all worked out.Nice low seats close to the stage!!!!
We got some awesome pictures and left very happy!
Monday night we went to the show,Adrian & me.
The line-up was very diverse including some country acts (Not really my thing, but Gretchen Wilson was kinda HoTT).
Carmine Appice was there and had a pecussion band called "SLAM"....fucking crazy drum stuff!
One of the highlights was Tom Scholz of Boston. He rarely make appearances and he did "Piece of Mind" with believe it or not Stryper..haha!
Tesla was really good,I would have liked to have seen them do a few more songs......Then Winger came out...OMG,I had no idea they were there....pretty lame!
Then Twisted Sister capped the whole thing off with "I wanna Rock","The Price",and "We're not gonna Take it"
I wished they played a longer set with some of the older stuff, but they had to squeeze alot of bands into one night....Pretty much everyone did about 3 songs.
Dee Snider hosted the whole show, introducing everyone.
Through out the night, the cameras kept showing the wrestler Mankind/Mick Foley sitting in the audience enjoying the show...(I fondly remember him as Cactus Jack)....anyway,he introduced Twisted Sister.
The show ended with everyone coming out on stage to sing a final chorus of "We're not Gonna take it"
As we walked back to the car people we're still singing outside.
The show was filmed by VH1,and will be aired on Easter!
