Friday:
Went to work around 2:30pm Friday afternoon. Work was nuts. Left work around 4:30am on Saturday morning. This is becoming an all too frequent occurence for me. I must find other employment or a different position with this company.
Saturday:
Got up around 10:30am after finally crashing out around 6:00am. Don't get me started about long nights at work.
Went to go look at a studio space for rent in Tampa. Not a bad space. Came out to about 150 square feet for about $1.25 per square foot. $190 or so a month, after taxes, inlcuding utilities and a fully functional darkroom. I am still undecided, but just a little. It would be nice to have my own space. I just need to justify the extra cost each month. Maybe I'll sell my soul a bit and do some straight up portrait work for $$$ on occasion to make the extra scratch. We'll see. Or I can rent darkroom time. Hahaha! The wife is very supportive of it and thinks I should be all over this thing. Now I just need to come up with the first and last month's rent to secure it as my very own.
We headed down to Green Dragon Books in Ybor City. Green Dragon is a pagan/metaphysical booshop and quite a nice one at that. Melissa had a card reading that went really well. Only time will tell how accurate. After other stops at Barnes and Noble and a few other quick stops we had a bite to eat and headed home. I was planning on going out to Four Green Fields for the evening, but there was no company to be found for the pub so I scratched that idea and just stayed in for quiet night at home.
Sunday:
Hopefully I can dredge up the upfront money for the studio I saw on Saturday and have the space for the next shoot. Yay! I was hoping to just go out to the park and hang for the day with a friend, who was supposed to tag along for the SG shoots, but I could never track her down early enough in the day to arrange a meetup. So I just stopped by my folks' house for a bit to find that they were out shopping. I shot some macro stuff and a couple of Holgaroid shots that I am very pleased with in their front yard. I can only imagine what the neighbors were thinking. :o) Waited for them for a bit and then decided to pop in on my grandparents. They were pleasantly surprised to see me and we visited for a bit. The parents called to say that we were all getting together for dinner and my brother and I needed to decide where. I wasn't up to braving a restaurant with the hassle of the Strawberry Festival in town and all. So Melissa and I popped by KFC and bought a huge dinner for the seven of us and vegged-out at mom and dad's place. It was quite nice.
So how was your weekend?
