Hello Lovelies,
Before I start my journal, I'd like to offer you my dorkiness. I love sending Christmas cards. If you'd like me to mail one to you, email me your info through the SG contact thingy and I will get one out to you. I don't want or expect one in return; I just like to send, so no guilt trip. This year's card is going to have a cute photo. Don't worry if you haven't talked to me recently. You're on my friend's list for a reason.
So, last night, I went to a MARILYN MANSON show!!!! I had the best friggin time. yay!!!!! I do love Manson as my favorite artist of all time. The first time I heard him was in 1994 and I have been mesmerized ever since. I have posters, action figures, records, an autographed copy of his amazing book, t shirts, and obviously, his music. I will read and save anything regarding him.
Let me tell you, that was a serious show. First, I must say the opening band, Slunt, was pretty decent. Yeah, they rocked and played rather shortly, therefore givng me nothing more to say. Marilyn Manson is quite the performer. There is something charismatic and theatrical about him that keeps me excited and interested for so many years. I love that the band played songs from all of the albums. This was indeed appropriate representation supporting his "best of" album tour. The core members of the band were just amazing as usual and I loved when Tim Skold found himself playing upright bass. Madonna Wayne Gacy was a madman musical genius on keyboards.
I do hate when bands cover songs, but there is something about a Manson cover. They make the song more haunting and sexual. And there were quite a few covers. The best part of the playlist was old skool manson songs. yummy. I would have loved to hear Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes, my favorite, but that's quite alright.
I loved the crowd last night. The bouncers and beautiful people were cool as HELL. A few bad apples pissed me off. I spent some time elbowing them in the spine and nailing some guy in the back. Please tell me why people take off their shirts at shows. I am jealous because I can't. I swear that one sweaty guy always stands in front of me and gets me all nasty. Keep your goddamn shirt on and quit poking me in the face with your lame ass collapsed mohawk. Hot goth girls with colorful dreads were everywhere. mmmmmm.....I thought my skirt was short, but apparently I was wrong and not complaining.
I did run into DaysOfMetal, who is ALWAYS a pleasure and a wonderful friend. And the cutie pie, Ricky, from Hot Topic (yes, I shop there, shut up.) saw me and said hi TO ME! nice. I did tons of people watching, especially young androgenous 18 year old goth boys. mmmmmm....
Upon leaving and purchasing a tour shirt, some lady was giving out free tickets...to MINISRTY!!! I took some, but the date is on a school night and I cannot go. They are in the mail as we speak to the lovely derceto. Why not pass something on if you aren't going to use it?
I will give a suggeted reading regarding the theme of my whole journal today: The Long Hard Road out of Hell. yes, I hate the grammar in the title (grrr. two adjacent prepositions). Anyway, look passed the scandel and appreciate the content of the book. I am shocked as to how open and revealing Manson is. I love the images and old writings he had included. He kind of reminds me of a wounded deer. I have read this book sooooooo many times. I love that he is so unconventionally smart, in addition to being tall, thin and incredibly hot with good taste in women. I so swear I am not a dirty groupie or obsessed. That would be annoying.
Before I go, I will put out there a question of the day: When will I be too old to be a Manson kid? I have no idea when to retire my FMB, striped tights, tshirts, goth make up, etc. Just a goofy thought when I was out last night: Am I too old for this now? Hope not. I wanna go to shows with my daughter one day.
Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!!! MWAH!!!
my love,
Schoolgirl
