Sometimes when you get down you have to take a time out and reflect at the road past behind you. I have been feeling kind of down the past couple of weeks, Then in the past couple of days I have been feeling up again. It is really because I was able to sit back and look at what I have done with my life. Here is a list of the things that I have accomplished that are important to me.
At the age of 12 I purchsed my frist car, a 75 Plymouth Duster. By the time I had a dirvers licence at 15 I had the car built up and ready to rock.
At the age of 16 I bought my first Pickup truck, and shortly after bought my secont, both were early 70's Chevy 4x4's
The following year I bought a 89 Chevrolet suburban that only had 75,000 miles on it. I was 17 years old. That summer as well I bought a pair of Chevy Blazers, a 73 and a 78. As well I built a 81 Toyota BAJA truck that I could not drive due to growing too fast to fit in the damn thing!
2 months into my seinor year in highschool, following the very traumatic death of my best friend who we burried the day before I turned 18, I joined the US Navy.
Just before leaving for the Navy I bought a 80 Trans am. The first trans am I had ever owned, but certianly not the last.
15 NOV 99 I left for bootcamp, I exceled there and found myself loving what I did, My division was # 069 we were the first CNO (Chief of Naval Operations) Honor Divison of the new milenium.
02 FEB 00 I left bootcamp for Naval Air Technical Traning Center in Pensacola Florida. There I was waiting for my school to start, I was working on barracs support and the Chief incharge of the barracs took a liking to me and got me setup to go to NACCS or Naval Air Crewman Canidates School. Which was one of the awsomest experences of my life.
After NACCS I went to the Avation Electroincs Technician school and graduated at the top of my class with a 96.15% average, as well there I was the class leader, and a peer tutor. When I graduated I recieved 5 letters of Accomodation fror outstanding performance as a "Model Sailor"
In September of 00 I went to SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape) School in Brunswick Maine. I was the only person out of my class of 200 to sucsessfully complete the "Escape" phase of the program.
I then was slated to go to Whidbey Island to attend a classified school, Enroute I stopped in Montana and bought a 98 Chevrolet Z71 with 22,000 miles on it, 3 days later on October 21 I was in a major motor vehicle accident with a man who was high on methanfetamine. In the accident I was messed up pretty bad I then had over 20 hours of reconstructive surgery on my face. I fought with the Navy for the next 2 years trying to salvage my career.
In December of 00 I bought a 99 Chevrolet with 90,000 miles on it to replace the 98 that I had wrecked.
4 months later in April of 01 I bought a 71 Chevrolet 2wd Pickup dubbed the Smurf because of its blue and white paint.
The next month I bought a 70 Chevy 4x4 that I dubbed "Goregous George" because it was actually made of about 6 trucks all built into one.
In January of 02 I bought a 93 Z28 Camaro that I still own. I wound up taking that car to Canada almost every weekend. In Canada I made lots of great friends, one of which is coming to see me sunday!
In September of 02 I bought a 97 GMC shortbed K2500 with a 454 Vortech. It had 45,000 miles on it.
Finally 29 January 03 the Navy decided that my sercices were nolonger required and I was discharged.
In april of 03 I purchased my first home.
In September of 03 I started driving truck for a living, as well I bought a 78 Chevy short bed.
In December of 03 I bought a truck and started running for myself. Since that time I have been in buisness for myself.
In june of 04 I bought a pair of 79 Trans Am Firebirds.
In August of 04 I got a new contract making more money than I had been at my last, as well now I was hauling aerospace components and heavy machinery.
In September of 04 I purchased my own trailer.
June 05 I secured a contract with a larger company making almost a 3rd more money than I was at my last contract.
Now, looking to the future, This afternoon I went to the bank and it sounds like they are going to loan me the money on a new truck. Brand spankin new. I wont know for sure for a few days yet, but It sounds like about October timeframe I could be taking deliver of a brand new kenworth W900L speced out exactally the way I want it.
I am really happy, all of my hard work these past 2 years is really starting to pay off.
Later this year it looks as though I am going to be able to step up and buy a Caddilac CTS-V as well, this will be my first new car. Then next year I am planning on making a move to Phoenix Arizona. All I can say is that it is amasing what you can do if you put your mind to it. hard work pays off as long as you use your time wisely and work towards a goal. I know I know, Im a big capitolist piggy piggy! But hey im ok with that!
