When I was volunteering in India (two of the greatest experiences/trips of my life) I had some unfortunate experiences.
I was residing in a Tibetan colony. Me and fellow volunteers (but mostly me) rescued a puppy from the streets, her mom was dead and all her siblings as well, she was the last one, I named her Sammy.
It was the weekend, and since we had no class to teach or research to do, we decided to spend the night in Manali (6 hours drive). Let me tell you, traveling with a puppy isn't easy. She sleeps most of the time, but when she was not sleeping she liked to make a mess. On the drive there she puked all over my favorite scarf (Miss ate dirt). Since we were a bunch of friends, we rented 3 rooms. The four caucasian of us (the trouble team) slept in one room. B had no space in bed so she slept on the floor with Sammy barking and bitting her all night. Worst sleep ever. The sheets smelled like vomit, the bathroom was black and the carpet was just dirty as fuck. Since Sammy was barking and not letting us sleep I finally got up at 6am, only to discover she had diarrhea and shat everywhere on the floor, our shoes and our towels... It was so much fun cleaning it up... But I love her tons and I miss her!
Also, I had a bunch of allergic reactions to nuts...
And one of my student dropped a desk on my head and gave me a minor concussion (I know) but God I love those little monklings!
We, one of my new bff, rented a scooter and crashed it twice, once in a parked taxi... That was a fun and frightening experience.
Oh! and I almost forgot! I twisted my ankle 3 times! It got pretty bad.
And I also broke a toe playing basketball with Monks!
So these are my misadventures inside two amazing trips! @missy & @rambo
