I DECLARE THIS THE SUMMER OF GEORGE!!!!!
well those are the words, or at least a close faxcimille of them from seinfeld that bare like a strong inspiration with this new year. (I tried to make that wordy and smart but I don't even know if I spelled half the words correctly), I digress. I am inspired to make this year the year of Scattershot (real name withheld , although some of you know it anyway)
highlights of 2003: (in no particular order)
- Residence life including sex, drugs and rock and roll was quite a highlight.
-Meeting SG folk at Tegans going away party, although an awkward situation for yours truly *cough* shy *cough* was still a great moment for 03.
-Many amazing concerts including From Autumn to Ashes , The Used (2x) A rainy warped tour is still a good warped tour with Coheed and Cambria Poison the Well Brand New The Used etc etc etc.
-Trying to record Even When Empty's first demo was a fun experience that will be a highligh due to all the lessons learned (such as don't joke around with Mike (drummer) when hes pissed)
-Meeting cool new people who I had fallen in love with, became good friends with, or even casual acquaintences with is always a highlight of any year.
CD of the year: From autumn to Ashes - The fiction we live.
Movie of the year: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (pending it doesn't suck seeing it tomorrow)
if it does suck Freddy Vs. Jason gets the nod.
best new band: Silverstein
Okay so onto some serious stuff. Im feeling a bit better now. I have my energy back but my throat is still scratchy. I went to see a doctor and the doc said this is a result of being burnt out and dehydrated. I didn't realize burnt out was a technical term doctors use.
and for my new years resolutions ... like I said above this is going to be my year!!!! Even When Empty has decided to make this our year too.. at least our year to build a following around our area. We already have a select few fans that come to our practises every now and then .... now we are branching out, demo, shows, t-shirts even? who knows. As for me in particular. What I need to do is fall in love with someone who returns it, loose weight, give up fast food (SG Ryan does too ) try and work on this confidence thing.
So my new years eve officially went like this. Sitting in my bed watching movies on TBS superstation. I saw Little Nicky for the first time and acctually thought it was pretty good. I was entertained at least even though I was hella-depressed no one was there with me through new years eve.
Really what Im doing is trying to make this a long assed entry and see who really wants to read all the way through. ha-ha. Anyways Im gonna end it here.
