Okay so after months of debilitating ( I have no idea what that means) and listening to lots and lots of music I have come up with my top ten bands list. So here they are in order.... prerequisits include: At least one song that blows me away, cool attitude/look, good live show helps but I haven't seen all these bands live yet.
10. Poison the well:
Songs that rule: Nerdy, A wish for wings that work, Midian Love Message, My mirror no longer reflects. Botchla, Moments over exagerate. Torn.
I have yet to see this band live but the album The opposite of December totally rocks my world. Their newer efforst seem a little bland in comparison but damn it if they aren't an amazing emo-core band.
09. Coheed and Cambria.
Songs that Rule: Neverender, Delerium Trigger, Everything Evil.
Only one cd, but you'll find that a lot of bands on my top ten only have one cd out so far. Thats because I like to get behind bands as they are just starting I don't feel right jumping in and going yeah they rule!! but coheed and cambria are such amazing artists. I use artists cuz their music is smart, edgy, catchy, fun, dark, impressive all at the same time.
08. Silverstein
Songs that rule. November, Red Light Pledge, Bleeds no More, The weak and the wounded.
This was a tough choice to consider a band I have only known of for a couple months on my top ten but after listening to When Broken is Easily Fixed for a coupel months straight and still not getting sick of it I realized how tight and amazing this band is. I definatly want to throw my support around these guys,
07. From Autumn to Ashes
Songs that Rule: Short Stories with Tragic Endings. Chloroform Perfume, Take her to the Music Store, Reflections.
When I first heard Short Stories with Tragic endings I was left in a daze at such an incredibly amazing song. But wondered if without the violins, and the other singer would the band be just as good. No they aren't as good as that song, but they are still amazingly spectacular post-hardcore band. Everything about them blows me away .. however what is lacking is that the front man can't acctually perform melodies so the drummer does ... which is both strange and cool to me. Saw them live without knowing anything about them and they were amazing.
06. Linkin Park
Songs that rule: Easier to run, Lying from you, faint, somewhere I belong, a place for my head, by myself, pushing me away, papercut, Hi voltage (both versions), My december, Enth e nd, P5hng Me A*wy
I know Im gonna get a lot of flak for this one ... but just look at how many awesome songs they have and how cool of a crew of dudes they are. I've met them and they were totally cool, totally amazing. I've seen them twice and they turned a decent show into a memorable show. So screw you haters, keep drinkin your hater-aid and I'll keep listening to a rad band.
are you getting sick of me yet??
05. Taproot.
Songs that rule. Every song on Gift, Mine, Poem, Art, Like, Dreams.
Gift is one of my all time favorite cds, and probably always will be. They seem like totally awesome people, the one time I managed to catch them live I was hella-impressed. and Stephen Richards is my idle I wanna kill him and take his place ...wait did I say that or just think it.
04. Taking Back Sunday
Songs that rule: You know how I do, Cute without the "e", There's no 'I' in team, Ghost man on third, Timberwolves at new jersey, You're so last summer, Head club.
Taking back Sunday to me is one of those rare bands that comes along and makes something bland seem really incredible. I've never been a huge fan of straight emo but these guys make it seem like a mozart work or something. Spectacular. I have been listening to Tell all your friends for almost half a year now and show no signs of getting sick of it.
03. Finch.
Songs that Rule: Perfection through silence, Ender, What it is to burn, letters to you, Without you here, stay with me.
tough decision but when they first came out they blew me away and left me as retarded as anyone can be. I couldn't believe that music could sound as good as perfection through silence does. but I fear that new efforts from them won't live up. We'll have to see.
02. Ill Nino.
Songs that rule: Everything they have ever done.
I can't get enough of these guys. Every song I have ever heard of them makes me go ga-ga. And so far they are passing the sophomore test cuz their new song How can I live has been stuck playing on my winamp cuz I can't get enough of it.
01 THE USED!!! !!! !!!
Songs that rule: Every song they have ever made.
If they had one bad song or one song that I didn't understand then they might be number 2 cuz sometime I can't stand front man bert mccraken but they don't and their live show is top notch. I can't say enough good things about the used.
Honourable mentions: Mudvayne, Killswitch Engage, Boysetsfire, AFI
best new bands: Story of the Year, Hell is for heroes, Funeral for a friend.
Hall fo famers: Stone temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Korn, AC/ DC.
hah didn't I sound pretentous as fuck, I hope it didn't come off sounding like I knew everything... I just wanted to get other people interested in bands I like cuz I wanna see 'em succeed.

i ferget zee rest..... damn this steel siv memeory!
FATA - short stories w. tragic endings. i LOVE that song. tho it would be better if the chick from one true thing wasn't on it. shes so flakey and immature and i think they could have found a different voice to compliment the song better.
...but thats just me
as far as the USED live, i think they would be a bit better off with another guitarist. the songs don't kick in like they do on the cd. more guitar players i say!
i love those boys tho, that cd is great.
hope yr havin a nice day
