Meetings all morning.
I hate meetings. I swear the only purpose of a meeting is for people who don't have anything to do to keep people who do have something to do from doing it.
I get to spend the day listening to management extol the virtues of the changes they are implementing, despite my lengthy report to senior management detailing why these changes are not feasible, will be considerably more costly than estimates and will require overtime to successfully complete within the stated time frame.
To get ahead in management, I think it's a prerequisite to completely forgo logic and simply drive forward, with unshaken faith, whatever looks best on paper.
Tell me your worst meeting story. C'mon, I need some catharsis.

1:15 P.M.
Well, that was pointless.
----------------
Writing up an email to all the employees to inform them of the changes that were decided upon (read: dictated to me in a dull droning fashion over a period of two and half hours) during the meeting this morning.
I had no choice, nor say in the decisions, but a the bearer of bad tidings, I will undoubtedly be blamed.
Shit-deflectors to full!! Lower the main sail and prepare for battle! BOOTY HO!!
----------------
Despite the fact that in the above stated email, I clearly said "email me" if they have "questions or concerns", I've received three phone calls from some very pissed off users.
*sigh*

Also sometimes it helps WHO your frievds are not just how many you have. For example, if you have a few friends that are very active on the boards, very vocal, intelligent and generally respected by the community backing you then it seems to be okay.
I'm ok with the forums. I actually wish I had MORE time for it. The one thread I make time for is the Say something fucked up thread because my friend OutlawTrick started it and he's away for like 8 months in Kuwait and god knows where else (Navy) so I'm trying to make sure it's kept alive for him. Silly I know but that's just me.
I tend to make random comments. Maybe they are lame maybe not. I don't know because I never look back to see if anyone's noticed it. I'd rather not see.
hey you chose my favorite profile pic right on!
thanks for the thoughts everything seemed to go ok so far! keeping my fingers crossed!
