I so totally ripped off OpticNerve's profile pose in my profile pic. It wasn't intentional, but happened nonetheless.
I'm so embarrassed.

The fates are fuckin' with me today. Serves me right for cursing them about the snow.

The drive in today was trying. On Deerfoot, some ass forgot to tie down his rubbish in the back of his truck properly so it was scattered across three lanes. It was like playing Spyhunter dodging the bits of wood, the hoses and the wheelbarrow. A long train was blocking our way in to Downtown, delaying us 15 minutes. Then 6th Ave. was closed between 1st. and 3rd. Delaying us a further 10 minutes.
All told, commute time was increased by about 30 minutes today.
I wanted to cry before I even pulled into the parkade.
----------------
Saw a Swift Fox this morning on our drive in though. I could almost hear the music for one of those Canadian Hinterlands commercials.
I'd never seen one outside of those commercials, so I had a completely spaz moment when I saw it.
----------------
That reminds me, I need to buy a camera and carry it with me everywhere I go.
----------------
I have a lot of comments to respond to. I think that's quite nice, actually. It gives me a happy.
----------------
Sorry. Nothing funny today. I'm feeling frazzled. I could use a hug. And a Tim Horton's dutchie.
----------------
Song of the moment: "The Quiet Place" - In Flames, off the upcoming Soundtrack to your Escape.

Went for lunch with the Dad. As he has gotten older he hasn't so much leaned to the right as fallen over.
We argue almost constantly about politics, policies and social issues. For a man who routinely wore a "Question Authority" tee on casual Fridays back in the good ol' days of Dome Petroleum, he's swayed atrociously far from the politics and ideas he instilled in me when I was growing up.
His faith in conservative policies is almost zealotous. I find that troubling.

Anyone else wait impatiently for Lenore to do one of her "Quick Update" thingies so they can their daily giggle?
----------------
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. I keep switching around the "Favs" for quick one-button access to journals. There needs to be more "favs" slots. That or I need to be more assertive with the "friend" thing.
I'm so embarrassed.

And I'd never seen that link until today. I really don't have as much exposure to links as you think. And is it just me or is there an insane amount of porn on that site? I added it to favorites anyway so that I can spend more time skimming the "words."
It sounds like you are in dire need of asking an SG to be your friend. I say go for it. I think an SG will accept friendship from someone who has left at least one or two comments and knowing you you have probably managed to maintain regular contact with this person...whoever she or they are. Go for it already. They will be pleased.
it always amazes me how kids turn out so different from the parents and from each other. i somehow was born into a family of conservatives. people who rave about religion but never go. people who support republicans even tho doing so has never made their lives better off. people you can't have a civilized debate with because they think you are calling them stupid because you don't agree with them. i've just learned to keep my mouth shut. it's easier.
cool fox!!!
