This weekend was a bit of a bust. Did nothing of interest (to anyone but ourselves), and this brought up a Monday night discussion of if we're getting to be fuddy-duddies.
We are planning on a house warming, but we're having second thoughts. We love our friends, but honestly, they're kind of shit disturbers and we fear for our unmarred walls, our pristine hardwood floors, and basically our "stuff".
We like having people over, mostly because we've paid a mint, and will be doing so for many years to come, on our house and don't get to spend nearly enough time there. We just don't want them to touch or break anything. We spend two hours a day in a car getting to and from downtown, so is it so wrong that we'd like to spend our weekends down in our area getting pissed at the local pub instead of one of us having to drive downtown to hangout in the same pub we've been going to for ten years?
We've both always been a little on the anti-social side. We're the people sitting the the corner drinking and smirking. 'Course you pour a couple drinks down our gullets and we get a bit, um, affectionate... with everyone...
...where was I... Oh, yeah, I was bitching up a storm...
We're paying a fuck of a lot of money to live there. We jumped through a lot of hoops getting it built to our specifications, getting a good mortgage rate, we're spending a shit load more decorating it; so am I nuts, or shouldn't I get to enjoy it without fear that my friends will trash the place?
Fuck it, maybe I'm just getting old.

I can't even tell a joke that I have been told to someone else properly. I'm just not one of those cats that can tell a good joke and as far as commom phrases I tend to screw at least one word up. Oh well. At least I know that I don't do well in that area so I don't bother. It's kinda like singing...I should be a rockstar, but I can't sing. I sound more like Alfalfa on crack! True story. Hugs
