Slow day. I like 'em like that. Sit on my ass, vaguely watch traffic on the company intranet, surf SG till my eyes bleed, stare at the pretty ladies, randomly comment in people's journals... ah... easy like Sunday morning.
Did try to change my driver's license today. Used to be that all they did was gave you a sticker to put over your old address until you needed to renew it. Now you have to get a new one. I've been putting it off since I don't want to wait two weeks to get my new one.
Yeah, two weeks. We have these new fangled licenses which are supposedly more difficult to forge. They're plenty ugly, and have all the panache and style of a 70s leisure suit.
Thing is, I get ID'd a lot. I'm 30. I really shouldn't, but combine my complete lack of wrinkles, my skinny little ass, my propensity to dress like a little skater boy and my total lack of hair -- on my head or other wise, and you got recipe for a carding.
The temp IDs have no picture on it. My passport, my only other piece of picture ID, is woefully out of date. I smoke and I like to partake in libations at the pub. Basically, I'm shit out of luck if I get my ID updated. No smokes, no adult beverages, and, most annoyingly, I don't think I can get any ink done at that Tattoo Con coming up without proof of my age.
As maybe a blessing in disguise, when I went to the AMA today to get it done, they said without a current AMA membership they wouldn't do it. The oh so friendly registries troll behind the counter gave me a talking to about how this is a service for "members only, you can take your little problem to another registry..." So I raised I minor ruckus about how "I'm a taxpayer in this province, I have a right to ... blah blah blah..." --I was bored, the woman behind the counter was a snotty, and I guess I was feeling feisty. (grrrr)
Anyway, no new license. Mine doesn't expire for another year and a half, so I guess I'll put it off for awhile. Well, at least until Amanda's comes in the mail so she can bootleg for me.

Coolest was George Perez. Favourite artist ever. Nice guy.
Yeah, I've been a fan of Perez since his Teen Titan days. I have couple of issues of 'Wonder Woman' signed by him. He's probably the only artist who could have tackled a project like Avengers/JLA. That reminds me, I have to pick up the last issue of that mini-series.
You like Warren Ellis' stuff? Still kicking my ass for missing out on 'Global Frequency'. I have to say he, Mark Millar and Grant Morrison are my fave writers working right now, though Morrison tends to get ass-lazy when towards the end of his run on whatever comic he's working on. I can't wait to see what he does with 'Superman'.
