So, here's how the chick hatching went, without the death...

First, we have the eggs...




Then the chicks make a hole to start hatching...




Then the chick pushes out of the shell...




And once they dry off, they are cute and fluffy!



Overall, a fascinating process. It would have been much more fun if more than five chicks had survived. Five died after hatching, and two never hatched at all.
