What a hell of a weekend...
But before I go into the good part, let's talk about the bad.
At work, while I enjoy the fact that I get to wear black all day (it is my favorite color after all), it gets boring, so I like to spice it up with a host of accessories.
I've worked for this Starbucks for almost two months now, and there's never been a problem about the things I've worn...
Until now...
Yesterday, one of my shift supervisors told me that my 'accessories' came up during a manager's meeting over the weekend. This meeting is with all of the managers in the district (probably about 8-15 or more) and includes the manager of our district...
I bring that up because you would think they would have more important things to talk about other than what one of the partners in one of the stores decides to wear on his arms... but I digress.
Anyway, my manager claimed she already talked to me about wearing my spiked/studded arm bracelets (think of the ones they sell @ Hot Topic for a reference point) which she didn't, and then my DM suggested that instead of talking to me about it again, she should just count how many times I wear them (up to ten) and then after that, they can just fire me.
Oh really?
As my shift supervisor goes on to explain, although my bracelets are not explicitly against the dress code rules (I checked twice before hand) there's a catch all called 'minor dress code violations' which can include just about anything (i.e. anything your particular manager may not like...) and apparently after ten of those, you can be fired.
Now... I don't even have a problem with the fact that I can't wear my bracelets anymore... I mean really, it's not that serious to me. But my boss had every fucking intention of just watch me shoot myself in the foot (she didn't even talk to me today) rather than to find her ovaries and just tell me not to do something anymore... hell, my shift supervisor wasn't even supposed to tell me! How fucked up is that?
It's cool though, because it's not as if I'm some one trick pony... I'll just throw another aspect of my style into my work attire and let her get mad at that.
Other than that, this weekend was fucking amazing.
I've had dreams of being an amatuer photographer for some time now, and have shot some things in the past, but this weekend was the first time I had a full on production where I directed and shit like that.. and it was so much fun.
The theme this weekend is one part of an ongoing project I hope to finish by the end of the year. Basically, it's me (through photography) depicting how I see my friends. I started with my partner, Jennifer and decided to depict her as a mistress (the nickname I gave her) spending the evening with her submissive...
For that role, I got my best friend... who was my partner before Jennifer and who is also friends with her. Yes... my ex and my current are good friends...most people can't work their heads around that.
Both of them had a lot of fun, and I think I may have opened Pandora's Box between them. For one, my best friend enjoyed playing a submissive a lot more than she thought she would (while she has a rather active sex life, her sex has always been pretty basic). And Jennifer enjoyed being the dominant one (like I knew she would). There was one scene where I suggested they improvise, and both of them were so into everything that was going on (of course it didn't hurt that both of them were half naked at the time) that they just started messing around with each other...
It got so heavy that at one point, Jennifer just stopped and walked outside before anything else happened. While this was going on, I think my mouth had managed to to break through the floor it was so agape.
It was interesting to watch to say the least (I know I know, I'm a guy so I would say something like that) but I've known for a long time that both parties have been fairly attracted to each other. I will be interesting to see what happens from here.
Anyway, I'm hungry.
