Mike and I got a letter from our rental agency two weeks ago. It told us out of the blue that the property we live in had been sold and they were no longer looking after it as a rental. They gave us back our latest rent payment in cheque form, and said the new owner would contact us soon regarding rental payments..
Now, my fingers are triply-crossed here, but we STILL haven't heard from the new owner. Therefore we haven't been able to pay rent for the last few weeks! Now I'm not a complete bonehead, I haven't been spending all my money on lingerie and shoes singing tra-la-la at their stupidity - we have been keeping the rent money aside. BUT I am still hoping that by the time they actually get into contact with us they'll either:
a) get confused with how much we really owe them (maybe if we let them think the rental agency never paid us back our last payment) and give us a week free rent.
b) be a really rich, nice, happy person who lets us stay here for supercheap cos he/she doesnt need or want the money anyway.
c) Is really stupid and never contacts us at all (lives in Argentina or something and inherited the property from great grandma Henrietta Humpelfrink)
d) apologises for the mix up and says "dont worry about the last few weeks, we'll just start the payments from now on, ok?"
I realise that without all of your kind thoughts and energies projecting into this, none of the above will happen. So I need you all to stop sending healing thoughts to the world and the people in need, and concentrate on me and Mike getting free rent. Just for a little bit. Then we can all go back to sending love into the world, and I will send triple love in thanks for the universe's generosity.
And I might make you all a cake too.
Anyhow, worst case scenario I'll make a few cents from the rent collecting interest in my bank account
P.S If you are reading this and are a new owner of a house in Heal st, then 3, 2, 1, SLEEP! "It is an honour to have such wonderful people living in and looking after your house. You can't thank them enough for being there day in, day out. You want to give them gifts. You would never dream of charging them! You should be paying them! They like chocolate, you should leave it in the letterbox for them."
