Last night I actually went to an event that wasn't industrial/rivethead related. *gasp* I saw HIM at a very cosy little venue and it was pretty awesome. I love the circle pit two shirtless guys formed (they're always shirtless) where they try to beat the shit out of each other and they always ram into poor, inspecting people.
One question: Why the hell was there a mosh pit at a HIM concert?
Secondly: Quite a few people there wanted to be Ville Valo. Ok fine, it's nice to emulate someone you admire but you have to keep a bit of yourself in tact.
Thirdly: No offense to you HIM fans out there, but I really don't like their new album. It doesn't seem to have enough depth, music and lyric wise. Are they running out of ideas? But I will say this about the band. They have great stage camaraderie which makes watching them interesting because you never know what they might do and they are seriously amazing musicians and really know their craft.
The best thing about the whole night? My seat right behind lights and sound where I had a nice, comfortable view of the band without having to deal with crazy fans on the floor. (A side note: some crazy shit got thrown on the stage, including but not limited to; books, toilet paper, jewelry, bras...etc).
I have to admit though, I would have rather been at the club stompy dancing to some good industrial. It made me miss my little scene. <3

I totally agree!! Only one more to go!! and i'm pretty jealous you got to see HIM. That was one of my favorite bands growing up. and I used to always say "Love will be the death of me" and wear a heartagram necklace. I still sport a HIM shirt. haha.

my ex boyfriend went thru a phase where he wanted to be Ville Valo. Jealous that you got to see HIM though...and agree with you about the new album. Not their best.
