This weekend was crazy! I'm typically super laid back, drama free and easy to get along with because I generally like everyone BUT, when someone or something I love is threatened, I apparently lose it. My dog is my baby. She's really co-dependent and shy but a good judge of character. I always make new friends meet her to see how she'll react to them. If she sits by them and wants to be social, that's excellent. You pass. If she tries to nip you and acts super crazy, you fail. (There are a few exceptions to this rule, however.) My best friend had a house party and I brought my dog because she's her dogs daughter and they like to play. Our new friend, brought over her guy friend and my dog, who's name is Beep, kept trying to hide from him and nipped at his shoes (obviously not hurting him) and he lost his temper at her and threatened to pour his drink over Beep and kicked at her head. I saw fear on my dog's face so I grabbed the guy by the neck and said if he ever threatened my dog again, I would kill him. That's the first time in my life I have ever acted out in violence against anyone and meant it and I wish I could say I had been drunk but I was stone sober.( I actually should have been even more relaxed because I had a huge amount of Xanax in my blood stream.) I find it amusing now and actually slightly comforting to know I'd react that way to protect something I love.
PS... This guy also seemed to be a misogynist and was being disrespectful of my personal space and my friend's personal space and kept trying to analyze what I wanted and what every woman wanted in bed. Ewwwwwwww! And my friends rule because they had my back! I've got your back too! <3

I really really want to agree with you and everyone who has posted and say good on you. But what if your dog was just smelling a dog it didnt like on the guy? That being said there is no excuse for him trying to kick your dog at all. As for him being rude and "analyzeing" what women want in bed yeah that makes him adouche as well.
