I added this to my facebook and thought I'd add it here as well
That Silver Lining
I wish it was possible to explain the feeling of happiness I felt tonight when I pushed my abs and they FINALLY responded. You guys have to understand ok, I played every sport I could as a kid but when it came to running I hated it. Every now and then I would get these bursts and take off and love the physical motion but in the end getting tired and sweaty wasn't for me. The result is the 25-30 pound innertube around my waste. My legs have always been strong my arms were so so and my upper abs were just dandy but the lower abs from belly button to the nethers were a perfect example of what doritos and pepsi will do to.
I made it through a solid 80 days of the first round of p90x and then I just became super busy and missed a whole week. In those 80 days I lost 17-18 pounds about 2 inches off my chest and 2 inches from my waste, my pants fall down constantly and Im fitting into XL shirts now instead of XXL. I started round 2 three days ago. In my work gear I weighed 323 in January, today I weighed 303. When I pressed play on shoulders, arms and ab ripperx tonight I was tired really tired , Ive been working 10 hour days and Im dragging ass but telling myself to get down there and press that fucking button because that gut is not going away on it's own. I hate havin it, people say your big boned it's ok just eat less, well I'm saying NO it's not ok. America is a laughing stock In the world because our nation is the fat kid that loves cake. I'm not going to be that guy anymore. I still eat things that aren't really good for me but for an hour to an hour and a half a night I bust my ass and it's payin off. I can do over 100 push ups now and in January I could do maybe 50 in an hours time. When I was finishing tonight with ab ripper I could feel my lower abs pulling my body, I did 10 reps in an excercise I couldn't do any of, and my back wasn't killing me because my back is stronger and those lower abs were finally told to get up and work.
That is the Skinny so to speak on my p90x adventure. I hope that this inspires some of you to take the physical end to a higher level in your lives, if you want to eat that fast food or that extra slice of pizza you better earn it not just take it otherwise you'll have an extra friend hanging out all day and his name is jiggle.
Theory: Before you go, you know how people say "don't you feel better after you work out?"
I'm thinking it's not that your body feels more energetic or really more fit, but that you just brought every bit of what you could and your bodies reaction is that relaxing endorphin high that comes with doing nothing or much less.
Food for thought.
