So I got a busy week full of shows coming up.
Last night went and saw Devin The Dude. Great performance as always and I had never seen a bar filled with more marijuana smoke before. Devin was up on stage smoking on blunts and shit sp the crowd just joined along, whole bar smelled like chronic. It was a welcome change to the metal shows I usually see, it was a chilled laid back show for sure. I got to see my homies Mac Lethal and Ron Ron up there too which was pretty dope. Mac was telling me bout how he just got back from kicking it with Sage Francis and how the new Sage cd is the killer.
Tonight is the Black Dahlia Murder. I'm stoked to see how fucking crazy this crowd will get. At mayhem over the summer they DESTROYED the venue. I'm eager to hear the new record now that I know it but not to eager about seeing Shannon Lucas (drummer). Everytime we see each other shit goes down, steaming back to when he was in All That Remains. It'd be nice just to have a time where we weren't at each other.
Tomorrow is Killswitch Engage/The Devil Wears Prada. I remember a few years back when I couldn't beg enough for Killswitch to come to Kansas City and now it's like they've been here too much. This is the 5th time within a year and I'm not too hyped to see this show. It will be interesting to see Phil Labonte singing for them tho.
Tuesday (3/16) is The Dillinger Escape Plan,Darkest Hour,Iwrestledabearonce, and Animals As Leaders. Way stoked for this show...I was to see Tosin (Animals) play the fuck out fo the guitar..I was to see Wrestle 's "skitzo" like performance, and Darkest Hour and Dillinger NEVER disappoint. Hoping to hear a few new tracks by DEP as well.
Next weekend is the almighty SOULFLY. They will be the first band that I have seen in 3 different decades...weird.
Anyway I'm out, leave some love.
