So, so I just got an SG account and now I'm deciding to post for the first time.
I got a reply from Dr. Huckaba:
Charles,
This is a great idea and I'm glad you are pursuing it. Let's meet on
Monday at 1:30 to explore some possibilities. One possibility is
to do something in cryptography --- I've dabbled a bit there in my
research. But there are many other possible projects, including
something involving linear algebra.
See you on Monday.

SWEET! *totally excited*
Anyway, aside from being excited about honors in the major.. how is everyone? If anyone reads this (is that possible? ), comment so I know who you is.

Thanks for the reasurement. One big test is tomorrow morning . Let's hope Astronomy grad schools feel the the same as you do.
Oh, and WELCOME! I'm really not new to the site, but I just recently became active in using my journal. So, we're in the same boat.
....what is it with Python...all my ex's became orgasmic while discussing it with me?

I guess the test went OK. What really counts is the physics GRE coming up in a week and a half.
Congrats on the honors thesis (you are talking about an honors thesis right?) Doesn't it feel great to be able to do your own reserach. I actually don't know a whole lot of cryptography, but from what I've heard it's pretty cool. My honors was in astrophysics--star formation to be exact.
Well, good luck! It will be alot of hard work. But, it will be more than gratifying.
