Holy hell.... first- for anyone who didn't, you should check out my friend Hera who's set went up yesterday... the girl is not only amazingly beautiful, but down to earth and an all around rad person. Next... does any one remember the cheapo espresso machine that I bought with the intentions of "sticking it to the man" by no longer being a slave to some coffee house? WELLL.. i'm happy to report that I've become a lattee goddess.... hahah..... and apparantly super humble about my skills too
which is good, cause I've been pretty much staying cracked out of my mind while trying to get the house in order. We've been in this place for almost a year and it just NOW looks like people live here. haha.. funny how that happens huh? Derby last night was insane... one of our girls (Luci Furr) went down and ended up breaking her ankle. we were doing whipping drills and her and I were next to each other, and one of the girls in my pack went down, then out of the corner of my eye, I saw her go down, turned around and she's laying on the ground with her ankle turned almost completely around. *SHIVER* it still sends a chill down my spine. On a happier note though, last night reminded me of WHY I love Derby... beyond the fun, and the bouting, and the skating.. and all that- its the team. One Luci was en route to the hospital, all the girls immediately went into team mode. Some of us volunteering to collect her from the hospital and get her home, others already volunteering to help her grocery shop, cook, clean, walk the dog- anything she made need. Her entire family is on the east coast and she hasn't lived here all that long, so knowing that - everyone of us signed up to help in some way. Now... THAT'S DERBY. Also... I've got a kick ass fishnet burn again in the same spot on my thigh, from hitting a slide wrong.... but that's neither here nor there.
