Holy shit. What a weekend.
So the Rollergirls were out in full force on Friday. We had our first official practice time, with a closed rink. Before that we had to actually share the track with the public, which is really really dangerous, both for us and for the unknowing (not padded) public. By the time the end of practice rolled around on Friday night, we were all amped and decided to head out to the local dive bar. The funny thing was that we were all still in our Derby get up, which is fine if there's 15 of us out together, BUT kinda weiird when your the only one in your derby clothes still (which I found out the next night) haha... anyway, so we pulled a late night on Friday....... got up early and ran errands and then headed off to practice again... after practice me and the boy met up with some SGSC folks at the dive. That was tons of fun, but what was only supposed to be a couple hours of meet-n-greet turned into to an all night bonaza for me.... which- did I mention that I was still in my Derby clothes? Yeah.. hahah.. funny now... but when I looked around at a packed dive bar and realized that it was Psycho-Sat (which translates into people dressed to the NINES) and realized that I was rocking the short shorts, fishnets, knee high socks and converse- I felt a little out of place... but that was easily remedied with another round drinks... haha... oh, and two little-girl like pony tails. Which contrary to how cute the whole things may sound... it really isn't when it's 11pm on Sat night and your the only one dressed like that. haha.. *shrug* whatever. Sunday was mostly cooking for the Derby girl BBQ.. which one of my most favorite things in the world to do, is feed people. So I spent most the day getting things prepared. Then loaded up the boy and the food, and headed over to an amazing BBQ. Tons of Rollergirls finally getting a chance to hang out, while not at practice. Plus it was the first time the team got to meet our "others" so that was really nice to. Now, it's Monday morning.... and guess what, A) I'm beyond tired, but really really happy. B) it's a certain new girls "last day" C) here's a photo from practice Friday night, go ahead and laugh.. I know it's silly... ALSO, for the record, I'm a much better skater then this photo portrays. We had just started running our drills, so I'm lookin' a bit akward here... haha
