Never underestimate my luck. I am indeed interviewing System of a Down on Tuesday. Hooray! The magazine boss absolutely wanted to handle this himself, since they are one of his two favourite bands ever, but the tv program he works for has crazy schedules, and the "star" of the program threw a star-hissy-fit and now wants to record the show on Tuesday. So, enter yours truly, with the grevious task to tackle a face-to-face affair with Shavo. I am rather pleased by it, I will also listen to the cd before the interview!
Got any questions for the band?
Uhm, regarding last week's interview highlights:
- Maxim was very polite. Said he is scared of birds, he's got a real phobia
- Paradise Lost was good, the odd thing is that they are english but their album is distributed everywhere in europe by now, but not in england, they have to get it on import. Major labels... blah.
- Liquido were very friendly and totally down to earth. I asked them to say hello to me when then they went on live tv for an acoustic set, i still have to check if they did it or not. LOL
- Barcode were interesting too, because they pointed out that denmark is one of the nations with the best welfare status in the world, so honestly they don't feel angry like most old-school hardcore bands that have lived on the streets or the such. Oh, and they dedicate one song of their album to rocco siffredi. gotta respect that.
On a final note: i am old. Or out of shape. Or both. I went to see Punkreas on Friday night, they are the best italian punk band around, i've been going to their concerts since 1998, it's probably the band i stagedove most to, and moshpits were my home. Nowadays, well, after 4 songs, i had my breath totally cut off and couldn't sing nor move, i was just moshing around, basically standing my ground in the pit fending off anyone trying to elbow me. How sad of me... i missed singing along to the whole concert! I guess i need to get back in shape, i want to be as hardcore as ever, and dance my life off to the tunes of Ska-P playing this or that festival in the Summer!
Before Punkreas went onstage, the opening band was Watertower, the skacore band of my best friend. They did an amazing set and they sold a lot of cds after the show. I guess you should check them out too, so here's a plug to their site (there's free mp3s and the such!): http://watertower.3000.it
That's all for today. Sorry, just some boring music updates, i know. I am sure that s. will soon leave a more interesting message, with pics too. And i will talk about ambulance life next time, too.
For now... enjoy the sunday off, and listen to loads of music!
