Ok, ok... i am sure most of you had a wonderful Halloween night! Can't wait to see your photos! But... how many of you can say they spent the night in an actual medieval castle (built around 800 dc), which was set in a very gory way for a halloween macabre party?
When you got at the castle gate, costumed guides would greet you and warn you that the tour was not for the faint of heart. We had to turn all mobile phones and lights off, and photos were not allowed (which is a big shame!). Then, they told us that the owner of the castle invited us to a banquet, but he is a bit like Marquis De Sade, so we had to earn our way to it. Starting from the garden, we were following the two guides that held the only lights available, two candle-lights!!! We were first assaulted by a werewolf that jumped out of nowhere and scared the shit out of everyone for sheer surprise. Then the guide took a wrong turn and we ended up in a cemetary infested by 3 nasty zombies (very realistic, they absolutely jumped on you and grabbed you!), then witnessed a distressing infanticide followed by a mother's wailing, we ended up in the dungeons where a man was carving a dead woman's body all the while licking and kissing her, and finally we even met a vampire and his three brides (one of whom licked s's face!). It all finished with a Sabbath, after we ran our way through half the castle in the deepest dark.
Then, we were welcomed to the banquet where we could eat all the candies and drink all the wine that we could.
That was so cool.
Oh, and s. was picked by the guide as "the chosen one" and she was given the only gun in the party (an ancient gun indeed, not a revolver!). She only had one shot... i kept inciting her to shoot at basically anything that moved. The mother who was coming in the room holding ehr baby? Even before i knew she was a murderer... i was wishing to shoot her. I wanted her to shoot everyone. LOL. The guide too. That would have been funny, to lose the guide that way!
And when the right time to actually shoot came (during the vampire attack)... the shot didn't go off! Damn! Only the sacrifice of Vladimir, our mad guide, helped us escaped from that room!
When light came back in the morning, we went to the castle again and we saw the remnants of the gory tour. It was more gory than we could imagine, since our vision was limited by the scarce light... there was more blood and gore splattered around the walls. Like, look at this setting for a passage that was haunted by a meat-eating monster (that was menacing us with a huuuuge stick and chains!).
(warning: these pics contains animal parts, don't see it if you're weak of heart!)

Rather horrified, we moved first to Parma, where spooky fog followed us:
Then, we moved farther way to Fontanellato and its wonderful castle. It was a hard drive there, in fog so thick, you couldn't see more than a few metres away. But it was worth it! Look at the castle, placed in the middle of a square and surrounded by water!
Overall, i guess i can say i had an exciting weekend! And those castles are sooo good. Come visit them!
