Yay stress!
I knew it was coming, but it wasn't supposed to be all at once. The calendar shoot dates are 7/25 and 8/8, and right in between the two is August 1, the day I have to move. It was supposed to be in September. The timing could be better.
So, this week I have to mix up a couple gallons of sludge for a test shoot this weekend, which will have to be squeezed in after I help my friend move back to Rhode Island (I couldn't talk her out of it; she wants to be near her folks.) Then I have to make a press kit to finally start getting some action from the cleanup/research groups who can actually receive donations (since BP is technically on the hook for all cleanup-related expenses, most donations would only amount to picking up their tab, which is pretty much the opposite of how this is supposed to work.) I have to inventory all my worldly possessions and figure out which half I don't need, then get it all organized and call the Salvation Army for a pickup (a yard sale would be brilliant about now, but I don't have the time to run one.) Do all the moving-related paperwork. Ideally, I'd move my stuff on the weekend of the first shoot, so I had a nice empty place to clean and paint, but that'll have to take place during the week.
August, I have shoot #2 and all the editing, formatting, and organization of sales (which I have no idea how to do) while doing the prep work for a sculpture installation around mid-month. After I unpack, that is. And figuring out how to pay for printing if I don't have anyone backing me yet. And shooting a wedding which I booked six months ago, thinking all I'd have for August was a weekend or two in Maine (which I may not have at all.)
Don't get me wrong, this is all brilliant and I'm lucky to be doing each and every bit of it. I just wish it wasn't all *right now.* Alright, enough whining. I have to go find stuff to donate.
