In the makeup world, I have grown up. I'm realizing that MAC is not the end all be all, finally. While I'm still in love with their bright pigments, there's just more to looking pretty than a myriad of colors. That said, here are some items from another line that I've fallen in love with, called Smashbox that I am absolutely adore!
Right now this set goes for 39.00, but when it first launched it was only 27.00. Thankfully, I snagged it when the item was fresh, and now I got four eyeshadows in a single quad, two blushes, a contour shade, and a highlighter, plus two lipglosses at a KILLER price. AND, it's all coordinated to work together so application is streamlined for perfection and ease.
Don't let the image fool you. The product is huge. When they say that this is a body bronzer, they MEAN it. I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but I found this on Ebay for 18 bucks, a steal considering it usually runs for 56.00 or more being that it's a limited edition item and the Smashbox site no longer offers it.
This is by far THE BEST mascara I have ever used. I struggle with both ends of the lash-spectrum. I have thin lashes AND they're short. (Lame.) This stuff manages to plump and pump my lashes on days when I am entirely too lazy to sport the fakes. The pigment is rich. Note: stay away from anything too creamy while using this, you're guaranteed to get racoon eyes, unless you set your makeup with a primer/mist.
For you Seattle-ites, tomorrow is Emerald City Comic Con. I plan on meeting Mr. Will Wheaton, Ed Brubaker, AND Matt Fraction. (YAY!)
Also, it my best friend's local reception tomorrow. I plan on having plenty of pictures for both, and I PROMISE I will evetually post them. Jesus.
I finally moved the majority of my shit into the apartment, and it's already really coming together. For the event, I bought a new microwave and a new vacuum. Sadly, I had to return my ipod touch to make these purchases happen, BUT they are more important than soon-to-be-outdated gadgets.
The LG 1.1 Cubic footer, for 92.00 bucks It's AMAZING.
Eureka's commercial vacuum, 117.00 @ Costco, usually 142.00
Tonight, my friends Brandon and Tyson will be coming over for a little Munchin, beer, and apartment-warming celebration. YAY!
AND, hopefully if all goes well, a special guest.
Happy weeekend!
