I had a conversation last night with a friend that made me realize just how much I am irritated with the sudden rise in Batman awesome-ness.

For those of us that are down with the DC (raise up) kthx, we saw this coming a long, long time ago, and cried quietly while we waited for the faux fanboys to take over one of the last frontiers of nerdisms left untouched.

nullComic books are fucking cool. I am mildly saddened by this concept.

But the biggest offense, the shit that irritates me the most, is that the fusion of tattooing and comic cool fallout is getting bigger than I anticipated. I probably should have bet money on how many people want to get "y so srs" tattooed to them in some fashion. Briefly, I suffered this same phenomena. I thankfully realized the danger relatively quickly. Personally, I always thought that tattoos should be deeply meaningful to someone, given that they have to spend the rest of their life with it -- I suppose the cult of y so srs is meaningful enough. But my question is this: how many people are going to praise the new religion, and for how fucking long?

There was a time when some of us would admit this shit, we did so at the risk of getting tossed to the wolves, where we'd fall in line to the concentration D&D camp and be burned at the social stake for reading trades, let alone enjoying them. (If you're a chick, you typically skipped jail and collected your 200 bones--- nerd chicks are acceptable creatures) but if you were a FAT girl (me, 17 years ago, at the height of my Batman obsession. Ahem.) and even got caught with either Batman or a Snickers bar, you were FUCKED.

My office is decorated with trade art and figurines, framed DC/Marvel stamps and Batman post-it notes.. And now, when I proudly wear some of the gear that I've collected over the years, I am somehow mixed in with the tidal wave of fan kids. I am deeply, deeply offended.

I realize the love affair won't last long. As instructed by another pal, he says, "Just smirk and ride it out. Enjoy yourself," and I still want to punch some bitches in the face.

Bring the wave, cunts.

Me and my mom just saw Dark Knight yesterday. She creamed her pants. It was hilarious. Miss you.
